Dave go for it—see if you can migrate away from Yahoo. There's certainly nothing to lose. I tried something similar for LNVT.org but the concensus was that posting a message via Wikidot was too 'programmer/HTML oriented. It certainly isn't WYSIWYG. For techies it's fine; but for the barely internet savy maybe not.

How did you configure the system so posting would be emailed to you?

Regards, Dave

Dave F. - here's a "new post" so we can see how it looks.

The "mechanics' of posting and replying appear at first glance to be much the same as on the yahoo site. Therefore shouldn't confuse anyone.

I am headed to the Miami Boat Show this weekend and shutter just tinking about what it might cost me. I have the galley torn up but the the new fridge and stove are already purchased.

Replying to your comment… you should also see this as an e-mail.
It's the middle of winter here, the harbor is frozen and the interior of the boat is the same temperature. If I don't do this wiki stuff now, I won't get to it for quite a while once the weather warms up. I am able to do Pilgrim stuff with out actually doing Pilgrim stuff. Besides, this is free. Every time I fool with something on the boat it costs $$$$.

I am OK with changing to Wiki for the forum. Might take a while for everyone to get over here. The problem is Dave you are doing a lot for the group if you are playing with this site all of the time how will you ever have time to work on your boat?

Understood.

What do you think about replacing the Yahoo Forum with this one?

The major advantages are that topics can be grouped and you wouldn't need to jump to a different forum and log on again.

E-mail notifications can be sent when posts are made but this would require a registered Wiki user to define their Activity Settings under their account. Until others respond to this post, I cannot tell if all posts would trigger an e-mail.
